Cyprus Credit Union has an opening for an In-Store Manager, located in the Tooele Walmart. This person will be  responsible for the direction and administration of an In-Store Retail Branch. To assist members and potential members with their Credit Union needs directly and through other Financial Service Representatives; provides expertise with respect to more complex Credit Union services such as IRAs, certificates of deposit, electronic funds transfer, home banking, etc.;  explains services, sets up new accounts, respond to problems, and direct members to the appropriate people. The In-Store Manager is responsible for managing and anticipating the needs of the branch, including driving sales, stellar member service, complying with regulations and policy requirements, and facility management. In-Store Managers actively coach other employees, as well as lead indirectly by example, fostering a member-centered branch environment. Other responsibilities include people management, expert product and service knowledge, partnership with other areas of the Credit Union and the retail store management in which the branch is based. In-Store Managers are empowered to effect real change in the communities which they serve.

 

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

 

  1. Assumes responsibility for the effective and efficient performance of Branch operations.

 

  • Supervises work scheduling and workflow of daily routine operations.

 

  • Ensures that operations are conducted in accordance with established Credit Union policies and with legal and regulatory requirements.

 

  • Ensures Branch security. Opens and closes the in store branch in accordance with set hours and tests security equipment.

 

  • Acts as a Loan Officer, processing and approving member loans within established policies and limits.

 

  • Supervises and assists with member services functions. Cross-sells Credit Union services.

 

  • . Implements changes to established policy and procedures within the Branch.

 

  1. Assumes responsibility for maintaining the proper cash controls.

 

  • Ensures that all Branch transactions are balanced at the close of each day.

 

  • Oversees individual accountability for the handling of cash and assists tellers in resolving balancing problems.

 

  • Controls and handles daily deposits in accordance with established policies and procedures.

 

  • Periodically verifies cash in possession of tellers and cash on the premises.

 

  1. Effectively supervises In Store Branch staff, ensuring optimal performance.

 

  • Provides leadership through effective goal setting and communication.

 

  • Directly supervises all Branch personnel. Ensures that high quality work and efficiency in operations are maintained.  Determines work methods and flow through assigning, directing, coordinating, and reviewing tasks.

 

  • Conducts regular meetings with Branch employees to inform and train. Discusses areas needing improvement and changes in procedure.

 

  • Ensures that personnel are well trained in all phases of their respective jobs. Completes orientation of new employees in overall Branch procedures.  Performs cross training as necessary. Conducts security training.

 

  • Ensures that personnel are effective and optimally used. Determines appropriate staffing levels for proper utilization of human resources.

 

  • Tracks individual progress and conducts performance appraisals on each employee at least twice annually. Formulates and implements corrective actions as needed.  Recommends promotions for employees as appropriate.  Provides leadership training to employees seeking management opportunities.

 

  • Approves all sick leave, vacation, overtime, and time cards for each Branch employee. Keeps accurate payroll and attendance records.

 

  1. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective, professional business relations with members.

 

  • Ensures that members' requests and questions are promptly resolved. Handles members' complaints.

 

  • Ensures that members are informed of Credit Union services and policies. Counsels members regarding their financial needs and services requested.

 

  • Ensures that monthly promotions are put together, managed, and tracked for success.

 

  • Ensures that the Credit Union's quality reputation is maintained and projected.

  

  1. Assumes responsibility for the effective administration of In Store Branch functions.

  

  • Manages and oversees expenses. Pursues cost-saving measures.

 

  • Continually seeks ways to improve Branch operations and productivity and to meet established goals.

 

  • Prepares periodic Branch activity reports and makes recommendations to management for improvements.

 

  • Ensures that adequate supplies, forms, and equipment are available for personnel.

 

  • Institutes prudent safety measures.

 

  • Keeps management informed of Branch activities, progress toward established objectives,
  • Approves checks, branch transactions, and loans within credit union policies and procedures.

 

  • Ensures that fees and refunds are handled in accordance with credit union guidelines.

 

  1. Assumes responsibility for related functions as required or assigned.

 

  • Fills in and performs duties in Branch positions as needed.

 

  • Attends assigned meetings, training sessions and stays current on new operational procedures.

 

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

 

  • Branch services are efficiently and effectively delivered in accordance with established Credit Union policies. Established sales and service goals are met or exceeded.

 

  • Good business relations exist with members and their questions and problems promptly resolved.

 

  • Branch audits are performed regularly. Branch audit scores are in line with expectations and show attention to detail.

 

  • Good working relations exist with Branch personnel. Assistance is provided as needed.

 

  • Required reports and records are accurate and timely.

 

  • Management is appropriately informed of area activities and of any significant problems.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education/Certification:        High school graduate or equivalent.  Additional training or education preferred.

                                               

Required Knowledge:              Thorough knowledge of Credit Union products, services, and policies.

                                                                      Understanding of Teller and Member Service Representative functions.

                                                                      Knowledge of Loan Officer duties.

                                               

Experience Required:              Two to five years of related operations experience required.

 

Skills/Abilities:                             Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

                                                                     Well organized.

                                                                     Able to operate related computer applications and basic business equipment.

                                                                     Good supervisory abilities.
